EDRA STUDENT RESOURCES

EDRA has a large and active community of undergraduate, graduate and doctoral students from around the world. Together, they make up for over 30% of the EDRA membership. We have opportunities for students to join EDRA conferences or participate in any of our activities. If you have not yet signed up for a student membership, visit this link to become a student member. Below are some opportunities available to EDRA student members:

Graduate Student Mentoring Workshop

The Graduate Student Mentoring Workshop (GSMW) is an initiative of the Environmental Design Research Association designed to provide a forum for graduate students to present and discuss their ongoing research with senior mentors in environment-behavior design research. Held during EDRA's annual conference, the purpose of the workshop is to strengthen and further thesis/dissertation work, as well to support the development of networks for young researchers in this area, both with senior researchers and with other graduate students. Additional information on the GSMW can be found on our submission portal where you can also view the EDRA57 Amherst call for proposals. Graduate students can click here to join.

Nana Kirk Travel Student Scholarship

The Nana Kirk Travel Student Scholarship program (formerly known as the Student Travel Award program) offers a limited number of scholarships in the form of reduced or complimentary conference registration. The scholarship is available for current EDRA student members who have been accepted to present at the EDRA conference.

In 2018, the EDRA board renamed the scholarship in memory of the late Nana Kirk, EDRA member, Board of Directors and 2012 EDRA Service Award Recipient, who embodied the passion and commitment that many EDRA student members share for social justice, diversity, and equality in environmental design. You can learn more about Nana and her work here.
