Dear EDRA Community,
We hope that this letter finds you well during this challenging time. Each day large gatherings are being restricted, events are being cancelled, and daily routines and resources once taken for granted are now in doubt and require attention and care.
EDRA is a not-for-profit organization that relies on the participation of each member to sustain its functioning and to achieve its mission to connect practitioners, educators, and researchers and advance knowledge on people-centered sustainable environments that are responsive to diverse human needs. EDRA’s Executive Director, along with members of the EDRA Board, and the EDRA 51 Conference Committee, are working hard to make the 2020 annual conference possible. Our team has spent extra time and resources to create a virtual EDRA 51 conference and we need your support for it to be successful.
The EDRA 51 webpage now has a new page for announcement and updates. The conference program is being updated with a web application that is easy to navigate. Conference registrants will receive password protected ZOOM weblinks for each day of the conference. Posters will be displayed online for participants to make comments. All individual and group presentations as well as intensive workshops will be offered online. Keynotes and plenary sessions will be hosted as webinars. Many of those sessions are AIA and EDAC approved for your Continued Education Units. The CORE and Great Places awards will be hosted online. All education programs will be held virtually in Arizona time as planned with the exception of Mobile Sessions that have been cancelled and fully refunded. We hope that you will remain available to participate fully and take advantage of what EDRA51 offers in the first ever virtual EDRA conference.
The EDRA 51 registration page is updated for the virtual conference. In recognition of the current strenuous time and unexpected hardships that people may be experiencing as a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, we offer a 30% refund on your current registration and will waive $50 processing fees on cancellation. It is possible to opt-out from the refund and to consider the 30% and $50 as a donation to EDRA. This will help to sustain the organization in the long run. To request a refund, to make a donation, or if you have other concerns, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org by March 27. All cancellation requests should be received by March 27, and your presentation will be removed from the program. Failure to submit a request by the March 27 deadline will be considered a no-show. Please allow 45 days for processing the refund.
EDRA is also financially challenged by this pandemic. Thank you for standing with the board and the conference committee in facing what is a global challenge. Your continued support and extra understanding will allow practitioners, educators, and researchers to remain engaged in the discussion for transformational environmental design research at EDRA 51 as we have hoped and planned.
We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding. We are looking for volunteers to serve as hosts of one or more ZOOM sessions. Please complete this form by March 23 if you are willing to volunteer and serve as a host. Our team will soon contact presenters and registered attendees when details become available.

Dear EDRA Community,
Following up on our message sent on Monday, March 9, we are writing to inform you that the EDRA Board of Directors has decided to shift EDRA51 conference to an all-virtual event to be held digitally on April 4-7, 2020, as planned.
We will be sending EDRA51 presenters instructions on how to present in a virtual format. We will be updating our website as soon as arrangements are made. Poster sessions will also take place online. EDRA51 proceedings will also move forward as originally planned. Full registration fees will cover the digital access to full programs of the conference, including keynotes and plenary sessions. One-day registration fees will cover the digital access of the program on your registered day. Mobile Sessions will be fully refunded. Details on Awards and CORE recognitions will be coming soon.
For presenters, if you decide to opt-out the digital presentation and do not want to be included in the EDRA51 proceedings, please fill out this cancellation form following the refund policy by Wednesday, March 18. You may now proceed with the cancellation of flight tickets and hotel bookings.
