Support EDRA: Child Playing with Toy

The Environmental Design Research Association has a rich history that extends for more than four decades. Founded in 1969, EDRA’s mission is to advance and disseminate environmental design research, thereby improving understanding of the interrelationships between people, their built and natural surroundings. EDRA's goal is to facilitate the creation of environments that are responsive to human needs. Our partnerships are structured to align EDRA’s mission with the goals of our partner company or organization.

Like most organizations, our programs and events are the cornerstone of our ongoing efforts to accomplish our goals, and provide an excellent opportunity to showcase our sponsors, friends and supporters. We encourage individuals and organizations to join our cause, and in the process we will work together to ensure your goals are met.

EDRA is pleased to announce the SINGER Fund intended to support Students and International Professionals Nurturing Growth in Environmental Research.

The SINGER Award is in memory of Janet Singer, executive director of EDRA from 1995‐2010. The SINGER Award honors the spirit of community, family and connection that Janet brought to EDRA during her years of service as EDRA’s longest‐serving executive director.

Recipients of the SINGER Award will be students and international members of EDRA who foster Janet’s enduring sense of community and connection through the dissemination of research and development of collaborative projects that have the potential to impact the global design community.

Dr. Meldrena Chapin, Dr. Janetta McCoy, Dr. Danny Mittleman and members of the Singer family currently serve on the Singer Award Selection Committee. If you are interested in serving as a committee member, please contact mchapin@scad.edu.
