The submission deadline for EDRA42Chicago is exactly one month away!   The call for papers has been extended slightly since it was distributed at EDRA41 in DC.   Please download an updated call here.  And please note that we are going to hold tight to the October 1 deadline for parallel session submissions.  

We are doing this to keep our refereeing and registration process on schedule, as we recognize you value the difference in conference quality this can make.   Also notice that the display (poster) session deadline has been extended to December 17.   We are doing this to encourage students to submit Fall semester projects.   Late parallel track paper and presentation submissions will be considered for display.  Late intensives, symposia, workshops, and working groups will not be considered.

Guided by the conference theme, EDRA is making some very big improvements to its traditional program at EDRA42. Among them:

• EDRA Tours become Mobile Sessions. Conferees are encouraged to submit Mobile Session proposals featuring educational material best explored onsite in the Chicago area. EDRA staff will support the logistics required for accepted Mobile Sessions.
• EDRA is initiating a Best Paper Award for the best full paper submitted to the Proceedings. The award will be announced at the EDRA Awards Banquet.
• Display (poster) sessions will be included in the conference proceedings, providing a permanent record of those sessions and making them published works.
• Symposia, Workshops, and Working Groups post-conference session reports will be linked in the online version of the Proceedings, creating a permanent accessible record of the session activities and outcomes.
• A tighter program providing the opportunity for additional networking, collaboration, and an opportunity to explore all that Chicago has to offer.
• We are bringing back the Saturday Evening Banquet, with a program that will be the highlight of the conference.

We hope you share our excitement with the creation of Mobile Sessions.  Traditional EDRA Tours have been fully integrated into the parallel program on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons. If you know Chicago--or have professional contacts in Chicago--please consider submitting a proposal for leading Mobile Session. EDRA staff will help schedule and coordinate logistics for each accepted Mobile Session permitting the session leader to focus on content rather than process.
